Bread Anyone?

On Saturday, we went out to Basil Griffin Park to feed the ducks. Even though it was 300 degrees outside, we still had a lot of fun. I had never been, so it was a new experience for me. The ducks were huge. And hungry.

Here is another video of Simon feeding his feathered friends -- he only ate a little of the bread this time!

VBS

It was VBS week at our church. Every night there was a lesson, craft, and game for each class. On Wednesday night after the lesson, we had a Carnival Night outside in the church's backyard. Our friends, the Whittles, even brought horses for the kids to ride! Below are some pics of Simon's adventures.

Simon and Cort fishing for candy at the Fish Game. It takes special talent to fish while walking backwards up a slide!

Simon's first experience with cornhole -- WBKO style.

Simon and Cort swinging between games.

Simon helped me throw two shaving cream pies at our friend Brandon. Our friend Ben helped us get started.

Simon and Cort even rode a horse together! Simon loved this -- every time they slowed down or stopped, he'd say and sign, "More." When it was time to get off, he cried and cried. I think this was his favorite "game" of the night.

We are constantly amazed watching our little guy learn new things. It's a lot of fun!

Boom Boom Boom

For July 4, we decided to stick close to home. On Friday night, we headed to WKU to hear the Bowling Green Chamber Orchestra and to see the fireworks show. It had rained a bit during the day, but we remained hopeful. Below, Simon and I enjoyed damp grass but dry skies.

And then we all enjoyed huddling under an umbrella together ... for the rest of the night. Simon was a bit resistant at first to such small quarters, but after playing in the rain for a few seconds, he opted to stay dry with us under the umbrella.

Once the fireworks started, Simon never looked away. During any pauses at all, he would say, "More."

On Sunday, Cort filled in for our pastor, who is on vacation. YaYa and PaPa came down to hear him speak, and spent the afternoon with us! Below, they read Simon one of many books during their visit.

Going to the Chapel ...

On Saturday evening, we helped celebrate Uncle David and Aunt Kelly's wedding! They were married at the L & N Train Depot here in Bowling Green.

Pics of little David and little Kelly

Yes, most of my pics came out blurry, but oh well.

Of course, Simon had to give cousin Ada some love before the ceremony.

At the reception, Simon ate a banana, danced his little heart out, pointed out every crack in the floor and/or wall, climbed steps, and danced some more.

David and Kelly ... congratulations!
