Trick-or-Treat!

Tonight, Simon donned his Charlie Brown "costume" for his first experience in trick-or-treating.

Cort gave Simon a pep talk before he got started.

Our first stop was Sarah and Ben Dahmer's house. We saw our friends, the McClanahans, there. We took the opportunity to take a picture of Simon with his buddy Sydney, and her mom Jessica.

It's a special day when you get your picture taken with a Spartan cheerleader (aka Ben Dahmer)!

Next, we went to see if Uncle David and Kelly were home.

They were there!

Happy Halloween to all -- from the Bashams.

Like Father Like Son

YaYa came down yesterday to stay with Simon, and brought an outfit that was Cortney's when he was Simon's age. Can you see any resemblence between the two little guys?

Simon Meets Big Red

We all went to Diddle Arena tonight to soak up the Red/White scrimmage game and festivities in WKU's kickoff to basketball season. Simon went to one basketball game last year--the last home game of the season. That was eight months and ten pounds ago. He was much more active at this game.

He got to hang out with Big Red. No crying or fear--he even smiled a little.

Simon is ALL BUSINESS when it comes to Topper basketball! And he MEANS it!

Cool pic from last Sunday taken by our pal, Derek Price. Simon played the piano with friends Sarah Miles (grown-up) and Corrie Powell (toddler).

It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown Redux

Simon went to his first costume party on Sunday at the home of Justin, Shelley, and Lewis Shepherd. There was lots of play for the kids and lots of snacks for the (semi) grown-ups.

Simon, dressed as Charlie Brown, arrived in style (read: sound asleep).

Charlie Brown woke up soon after arriving. Here, Laurie has just pulled a football away as Simon tried to kick it.

Lewis as a scary dragon! He was quite the host.

Taylor turned from a fairy godmother, to a carriage, to a glass slipper, and finally settled on a pumpkin.

The Past Week

Yes, it's been a while since we posted. Here are a few pics from the past week.

A week ago Saturday, I ran the Bowling Green 5K. Cort usually runs the 10K, but since he is nursing an injured hip/knee, he decided to join Simon, Nana B, and Granddaddy in cheering me on. I did well for me -- around 31 minutes or something, and I didn't have to stop. Not bad, considering I've only run twice since Labor Day. Ha!

Simon had to bundle up for the 40+ degree temperature.

After the race, we all went to Teresa's Restaurant for breakfast. Simon tried out a piece of wheat toast.

Simon and his first pumpkin!

Music, anyone?

Who wouldn't love prunes when you can have this much fun eating them?

Latest Happenings

For the past couple of weeks, we have been trying to introduce Simon to finger foods and some solids. While he doesn't have much of a taste for them yet, he does have fun playing with them. Below are some random pictures from the past week or so.

Simon's first experience with a teething cookie. He had no interest at first, but finally gave it a try.

Watermelon Crawl

On arriving home from work today, Cort and Simon greeted me in the driveway. Cort said that Simon had done something new right before I got home. We went inside, and Simon dazzled us with his new skill.

We were so completely excited and amazed! This is a lot different that his usual sideways-army-crawl.
