Turkey Shower

In addition to the normal family time, fishing, shopping, travels, and turkeys of Thanksgiving, we added in baby shower #2 this holiday weekend. This resulted in a Bowling Green-to-Glasgow-to-Hudson-to-Glasgow-to-Bowling Green circuit over the course of five days. We enjoyed Thanksgiving shindigs at Grandma and Payne's house (Thursday lunch), Mom and Dad Basham's (Friday Breakfast), Mamaw Preston's (Friday dinner), and Mom and Dad Vance's (Saturday dinner). Then, we piled up another ship full of booty (and booties) at the shower on Sunday. Needless to say, it was a fun but tiring five days.

We both crashed at home early last evening, but not before we scooped up another carload (and I do mean LOAD) of Simon goodies at a baby shower at Siloam Baptist church in Glasgow.

Don't Call It A Comeback

"Don't call it a comeback, I've been here for years
Rockin' my peers and puttin' suckas in fear." ~LL Cool J

Alright, enough early 90s rap. I do apologize for the long delay. Since last time, we have:

Enjoyed Halloween, took a 2-day trip to Morehead for a conference, had a Breck Co. baby shower; hosted six women at our house in BG; learned all about breastfeeding; presented my thesis paper on popular religion at church; hosted YaYa Audrey, Nana B, and Granddaddy for a Grandparenting class; and watched our WKU Hilltoppers defeat the Georgia Bulldogs (Stand up and cheer!). All in addition to work, church, and life's normal routine. Whew.

We also had a doctor's visit last week and everything still looks great. Laurie is currently in Week 31 and Simon is apparently still taking martial arts lessons.

And, here some pics from the Breck Co. baby shower with Cort's family. Don, Bev, and David made the trek up from Glasgow as well:

Simon's welcome cake. We think he really liked it:
