Christmas Adventure 1: Breck County

Even-numbered years send us to Breck County on Dec 23 and 24. Both our families have big Christmas Eve bashes, so we have to alternate each year. We had a great time in Breck County, but missed the fun at Grandma's on the Vance side this year.

Nothing says Christmas like a young boy's introduction to Wii Bowling courtesy of Uncle Dooney and Aunt Nikki.

Trees, Trains, Toys

The holidays are chocked full of fun festivities. Here is a rundown of the pre-Christmas 2010 highlights.

Decorating the tree is a family affair every year. It was nice to have FOUR sets of hands this year.

Naomi was especially into it, given that she was too small to hang ornaments last year.

In mid-December, there was a reading of The Polar Express on the old train cars at the historic train depot in Bowling Green. Simon got to play with a train set, complete with steam and a whistle, while waiting to board the train.

Finally, the most important Christmas prep: telling Santa what you want for Christmas. Simon's answer: "I don't know." Naomi not pictured...she was busy digging her nails into daddy's neck and shrieking "NO NO NO" (I guess we forgot to tell her if was "HO HO HO") when we approached Santa.

More Christmas fun to come!
