Cowboys, Gardens, Stories
Simon's first week with daddy has yielded lots of interesting experiences and new words. Read on for a "lexicon" update and pics from the last week.
New Words
DONE: has shifted from "DUH!" to "DEH! DEH! DEH! DEH!"
DON'T YOU DO THAT!: dih-dih-dah! He does this after throwing things on the floor. He shakes his finger, too. It's kind of "play"--not as serious as a real "no."
FLOWER: fow-VAH
NO-NO-NO: nuh-nuh-nuh (another kind of "play" no--he shakes his finger with this one, too)
OUT/OUTSIDE: Owwwwwt.
THANK YOU: dat-doo (signs as well)
UH-OH: uuuuuhhhh-ooooooohhhh
YOGURT: dirt. Really. It sounds just like "dirt."
When a cowhand lacks a horse, his trusty upside-down-red-wagon-on-the-kitchen-floor will have to do.
Simon helps dad put out the garden. Here, he breaks up chunks of dirt. He only ate a little.
Simon went to his first story time at the library today. The torrential rains kept a lot of regulars away, but he did get to meet Levi. They are listening to a story here.
Ms. Robyn reads Cows in the Kitchen while Levi, Simon, and Ms. Michelle (puppet with the red curly hair on the right) listen and make animal noises on cue.
Simon gets to know Ms. Robyn after the stories are over.

I had Ms. Robyn for storytime at the library when I was little. She is great!
