Simon Says: Weight Check

Simon had his first outing today. Mom, Dad, YaYa, and Simon went for a weight check and a quick meeting with Dr. Fraser. His weight is holding steady at 6 lbs., 10 oz., which is pretty normal for a 5-day old baby. They said he would likely be back at his birth weight of 6-15 when we go back to the doc on Jan 11.

Other than the cold scales, he liked the trip just fine. He conked out in his car seat right away and never fussed while waiting at the office. Of course, this could be because he was awake most of the night again. He simply wants to be held at night right now. We are going to keep him stimulated today to see if he (and we, especially mom) can rest a little better tonight. He is eating well and seems to be really happy most of the time.

Simon all dressed up in his green outfit.

Ready to head to the doc.

That's one really pretty baby boy you've got there! Sorry I didn't make it to the hospital. I was covered up (sometimes literally) in grandchildren! Our Maryland girls were in and stayed until the last minute they could and then made the 12 hour drive home. I'm enjoying your blog so much. Laurie, you look wonderful for having a five-day-old. The sleeping will get better after a few more weeks. Right now, my advice is --take naps! Looking forward to hearing everything. Let us know if you need anything other than sleep. --Eva

aunt Penny says he is beautiful and I am glad he is here and both are doing fine, and dad to. Hope he gets to sleeping better soon for your all's sake, he is just alittle confused now. Enjoy every minute while you can, they grow up so fast. I'm really happy for you and I hope to see you all soon. I'm keeping you in my prayers.

Simon looks so great in his monogrammed:) little outfit except it's not exactly "newborn" size on the little guy--nonetheless, he looks very handsome! I'm glad he had a good check up! Always thinking about you all!
Talk to you soon!
